lol
I think Peter mentioned mass thickness doesn't affect exhaust temperature much.

ok so the inside is sealed so fibre doesn't get into food, I hope it's stainless steel instead of painted steel.

you can lower the firebox, and make DSR2 with exit port on the side and direct gasses to mass below like I did.

yes that's a great idea. I just spot welded a piece of metal to hold the glass against glass rope. I don't have glass rope around door I think there is very little air that can come trough.

more wood, more fire:
I'm not sure if CFB is glowing or the clay lining on it
Startup is easy with colder temperatures and satamax method. After like 20min it doesn't smoke back when the door is opened.

so this is an alternative to steel box stoves with 130mm exhaust. I'd love to se combustion efficiency compared between these because it's easy to extract heat and increase overall efficiency: donkey32.proboards.com/thread/3586/bb-box-stove

I had the same question so I decided to gamble a bit with DSR2/Batchblock style and seems great, I'm only slighty concerned with the smell of insulation.
Most reliable/user friendly is probably original BB, I remember only fiedia has some problems with dirty burns.

does IFB smell after being burned? CFB does.
That sealeant should work but I prefer to user sand/clay mortar.

bartjmeijer I don't see any pictures, do you have some? I'm just saying how those stove were constructed. It used to be a channelled setup. The layer of the tiles filled with clay will hardly serve as air tight bell. We retrofited a few stoves like that (sized 3 tiles by 5) but with a chamotte plate inside the tails and additional layer of them glued with chammote mortar to that tailed surface. interesting I thought it is a straight swap since those tiles and joints could withstand over 400C in original setup.

it's running well but I'm not ovefilling firebox because it seems that CFB is still off-gassing. Remember Solomon measured over 1300C in J-tube so I'm not sure what will happen here. CFB is coated with waterglass and clay and clay is peeling off in the riser. Also space is only 16m2 so I don't need so much heat at this point.
I prefer the bricks to have "wet look", might try coating them with waterglass or something:

with full flames upper window is interesting but not in the other stages of the burn:
