That is an interesting interpretation! Looking at the schematics that is not what my eyes are seeing. What was your level of training with Kuznetsov? Did you actually lay hands on brick? I get the impression you have read much and built little.

I don't build at all! I advise others. I showed Peter what unit 0.6 MW was built according to my words. If you do not have time to build a lot of reading. You need a good memory, volumetric thinking and a simulator in the brain.

Cependant il serait judicieux qu'il appuie ses dires par des données scientifiquement prouvés.
Moi aussi je reste sur ma faim.
Pour le plaisir, j'ai bien envie d'en fabriquer un, mais comme je ne suis pas un professionnel, l'idée de réinventer l'eau chaude ou le fil à couper le beurre, ne m'inspire que moyennement.

And to make this thread go full circle here's a permies link to a thread about Kuznetsov with our own Peterberg. There are references back to older threads on this site. During the early development of Peter's first batchbox design he apparently tried the dry seam idea and had less than positive results.

I took the time to search to confirm my words.
From the link www.stenovne.dk/englishpage%20course.html you can find out that when the Russians turned off the gas, they sent a landing of stove workers as an excuse or a mockery, but rather aggressive marketing. www.stovemaster.com/html_en/articles_7.html These stoves are more like a "penis extension" than a heating device. The common people are heated with simpler stoves.

Here's a link to the book about bell theory translated to English. Dry as toast but interesting stuff.


Having looked at many different Russian stove designs the bell concept is executed quite differently than I have seen here. I think largely due to the desire to close everything with brick. Much of the bell concept is executed in two vertical tunnels. The bypass in these stoves is often a nice vertical connection between the firebox and the stove pipe. I think the reason most of these designs have two bells is the internal surface area is much smaller and the gases retain more heat as a result. The overall result is a much more compact stove with a greater mass per volume.

I think some of the construction details will be helpful to folks that visit this site. Lots of details about how to properly bed doors and clean outs and also where to allow for expansion.
