Hi Folks!
After several years of reading the forum, I'm posting my very first Batchbox stove:
It's a 150mm system created to temporary heat the downstairs while doing renovation work. I'm very pleased with it, it burns quite nice. It's way better than the cast iron stove I had in use before.
The stove will only transfer heat through the barrels on top. The white box is staying cool. (15°C after 4 burns)
Thanks to all the people which helped me or provided materials: - Opa Rik: for all the welding - Dirk: for the liquid cooled saw - Joost: for the second hand door
And last but not least: thanks to Peter for all his hard work!

Thanks.
It was also a test to see how my chimney would behave before building a masonry stove in a few years.

Lol Only the vermiculite in between is mixed with a clay-sand mix.

Hi Folks!
After several years of reading the forum, I'm posting my very first Batchbox stove:
That first photo looked like a tapered box narrower at the top, but I guess that's just a wide-angle pic at low level, the rest of them look rectangular. I'm slightly disappointed ... I shall make a tapered one myself, just 'cos.

Great build. I'm extremely impressed with it being mobile... ;-)

I've noticed one of the corners in the back of the riser came loose. The walls in the firebox are becoming a bit unstable aswell.
So I guess I'm going to do some repairs after a while.
I've used some sort of fireresistant cement, but it isn't holding up.

The firebox walls would be better cast in single pieces, in a way that they all hold each other in position without the need of any cement. If that's not clear look at page 23 of my thread link below.

Yes I know what you mean. I'll see how it holds together for now Something to keep in mind when building my masonry stove in the finished livingroom. (How do other people keep there firebricks together in the firebox? I'm not the only one using firebricks I think
