If I see correctly you have split firebricks, thin ceramic wool and insulating bricks.
So if you take the wool out and mortar firebricks directly to insulating bricks it will be stronger.

satamax, you have 3cm thick large firebricks surrounded by air-concrete so there's not much need for mortaring or complicated work. thats a great idea.

Must have posted from the bleemin mobile phone. Spell check on that one can't be in French and in english at the same time. And it does all sorts of nasty things. A real pain in the ass this thing.
