Today I amended the drawing to the state it was actually built, the SketchUp file can be downloaded via this link. The file is in SketchUp version 8. I have used SketchUp a bit in the past, but I am not familiar with it. I just opened the Luke3v8.skp file and I noticed that I don't see any simple way to see the dimensions of the used elements. Like the size of the riser, stones... well everything. I can use the ruller to take a measurement, but I don't think that's the correct way. Do I need to add some plugin or something, or am I just overlooking some simple option that I need to switch on? I thought In had read here in the forum that SketchUp would show all needed sizes, also the m3 of the burning chamber/bell etc. If anybody can point me into the right direction, that would be appreciated.

Click a point and another one, with this tool switched on. There's your measurement. The bricks are specific to Mallorca, I am led to beleive, best to check what's available to you. SketchUp can be made to show all the measurements from point to point, areas and volumes also. In order to do areas: draw a rectangle over the part that you want to measure. Through the menu Window>Default tray>Entity Info a floating window is opened which will show the area that's selected. Something along the same lines for volume. In case you want to ask more questions, please start your own thread.

thanks Peter for all the info and the updated plans. the heater has been running great! ran a batch this morning and sitting here nice and warm tonight. I will be putting up another video soon with some footage that I took so will bea easier to see the build than in the time lapse. Hi Luke, I know it's already some years ago, but did you ever managed to put up that other video? And how is the rocket mass heater doing? Still enjoying the nice warmt of it? Best regards, Mike
