Good to see someone else from Ireland on the forum, Frank. I got the 1600 degree castable refractory from Dineen, it's been going 5 years without so much as a crack.

Vortex your stove looks amazing and using the pyrex dish as a door glass is genius. What part of the country are you in? I'm in Tipp not far from Nenagh.

Thanks Frank, I'm near Kilcrohane, 16 miles west of Bantry on the Sheepshead peninsula.

I hope the bad weather hasn't done any damage to your property down there, definitely need a good stove.

I'm 200m back and 60m above sea level so OK, but my neighbours below me have damaged property, both the coastal roads down the peninsula were washed away. Do you have a good stove or plan to build one?
