Hi everybody.

Well, not knowing where to put this, here it goes!

Searching through leboncoin.fr for an old oil or fuel tank, i typed tank, and then, i bumped onto huge fish tanks. I don't know how tough they are. But wouldn't it be fantastic to have à huge fish tank as a bell. Something like 5000L one. Made out of proper refractory glass. See the flames comming out of the heat riser, the stratification of the gasses etc! Plus if thick enough, it could also act as mass

Yes Max, I think you are or at least this idea is. The fish tank would be fantastic, but only to view. The heat conduction of glass is very poor, it's not possible to make a mass heater out of such a thing, in my opinion anyway.

Right.. I think the inside would gunk up in fairly short order and not look so good. It would be rather hard to clean and it would be CRAZY expensive to build.
Cool idea though..
