Below is a link to a website where I've posted links to photos of how I connect my 8" stove pipe to my Rocket Heater. If there's a problem with any of the links, please tell me !! The photos are together on the lower portion of the page, under FILES and start with the letters PICT Disclaimer : what I've done is not rocket science for anyone, let alone for accomplished rocketeers !! groups.google.com/group/rocket-heaters?lnk=srgI've since sealed with cob around where the pipe connects to the heater & buried the pipe and cob is sand / clay. I'll be adding more sand/clay on top of what's there already, adding to the heat battery effect for my heater.

Good stuff. It seems that you have a fairly high speed connection to the internet.. Youtube and large images and all... Some of us are still on dialup (myself included) which makes youtube, etc. damn near impossible. I live in a strange little corner of the States where I'm not likely to get high speed service any time in the near future (decade or so). Sattelite service can be had, though I doubt I'll be doing that either any time soon... Anyway, the point is: It is old netiquette to keep images and whatnot as small as possible. (I've been online since .. well, a little before html, when www was just a folder at CERN) Bandwidth is EVERYTHING here on the net and preserving it is a kind of environmentalism.. Your images are 3016X2008 pixels.. They could easily be reduced to 640X480 (or in that neighborhood somewhere) and still be quite easy to "read". They will also load faster which all you spoiled high speeders may not notice, but I sure will.. Thanks man... And by the way. Good job on the stove.

Donkey, I must concede that tho previously ignorant of the fact, I am indeed spoiled when it comes to internet speed. I used the program Picasa to down-size the photos from their original 9 plus meg in size, having instructed Picasa to make them the smallest it offers ... but that's still over 300K !! My apologies ... But I've got an offer you can refuse if you'd like ... but I'm hoping that you won't. I'd be willing to put the photos, the model of my heater and the video on a CD for you & mail them to you If anyone else wants them to be sent in like fashion, what I'd suggest that they can express their interest and, if you don't mind, mail them on to the next person. This is not a requirement ... but simply an offer to you personally at this time. I'm sure I won't be able to handle the cost of sending the CD's to everyone who might ask for them. In my account / profile ( etc ) you've got my EMail information and I'd be happy to provide these for you at no cost

Donkey, Check out the following link. The file size is WAY smaller & will perhaps give you the opportunity you need to check out some of the photos, if only in their thumbnail version. picasaweb.google.com/larsmith217/RocketExhaust#Please let me know how this works out ... AND ... if you know of a way to post those photos amiably here on the forum, please feel free to do so. I've not yet figured out how to do it nor was I sure it was appropriate. Allan

For pixel shoveling, mainly I use Photoshop. But there's a pretty good freeware image viewer that does batch converting and a huge list of other stuff.. XnView has been very helpful to me so far. I recommend it.
