First posting so a hi to all you fellow rocketeers!
I plan to build a batch rocket with bells (and whistles...) and want to firstly express a huge debt of gratitude to those of you (Peterberg, Donkey et al) who spend countless hours thinking, building, tweaking and especially sharing your knowledge. It's a great forum - assuming you like rocket stoves...
So, a couple of things if I may. Firstly, can anyone point me to the thread, if there is one - I haven't managed to find it, where the design for the rear vent in the burn chamber went from being a horizontal slot to a vertical slot?
Secondly, I am in France - Dept 12 The Aveyron for those who know! - and I've noticed there are quite a few others on the forum living here. I was thinking maybe we should make ourselves known to each other to share knowledge on sources of suitable building materials. As those of you over here will know, it's a sod trying to get hold of anything out of the ordinary, particularly in rural France. "What, you want something we don't have in stock? Why?"
A bientot
Peter

Oh boy... I think it's somewhere on the Adventures with a horizontal feed threads. If you plan to build a batch box, you should probably read through the whole thing anyway.

Donkey, thanks for the reply. I have read through this thread plus many others hence my question. If you know the tests were done and it's reported then I'll plod on through the threads. Interestingly, your stove in the tread you suggested already has the vertical slot so it pre-dates this.
Thanks again.

Errr, my apologies. I haven't read all the way through this thread - I'm on with it now. I let you know what I find.
