Hi everybody!
Well, has anybody seen sawmill mulch? Most of it is in the size range of one finger, down to may be a short thumb. Like what goes out of a shredder. I was thinking this would be nice to burn in à rocket, may be better than pellets.
Any opinion?

You'd have to build the feed like a pellet stove.. Getting air into it is gonna be the trick. Once you get that right, it should chug away like a champ!
One other snag.. Is that the different sized, raggedy bits might like to hang up.. You might have feed issues that aren't shared with pellet stoves.

My friend is making a central heating unit that will burn wood chips (not rocket style). The feeding will be done with a extrudor. It costed about 50 eur. (wo. motor). And chips are transferring very well. The dosage is maid with two timers: you can set "play" and "pause" interval in seconds - he said that commercial stoves for wood chips also have this kind of non-continuous feeding. I would prefer gravity feed but i agree with Donkey that there might be issues with hanging up....
