It looks like both the channels between the chambers are at the bottom, on the same level.
Make the exit from the first bell into the second higher than the exit from the second to the third.

to do it this way I have to add a chambers.

I think Morticcio meant that the exits should be all at the bottom, but the first should be larger (higher) than the second? I always thought too many ups and downs would make the stove to sluggish but I have come across Russian fireplace designs with many.

seems that having the first bell smaller distribute the heat better
have only two bells also simplifies the construction
