So. In this first thread you can find already gathered questions that will be in the coming pool. The main point of this pool is that we gather data on RMH that is tested and a much as possible exact and consequently reliable for you/ others to use it on a new or existing RMH.
Remind you that this pool will be speciffically for RMH (rocket mass heater) with flues OR bells after the barrel.
It would be really nice to see the results like that at the end:
XXXX people are using an 8" sistem for over YYY years with a flue pipe longer than ZZZ that has properties like:
-blah
-blah blah...
and has not experienced no difficulties in operation.
SO! Right here below are already gathered/suggested questions. Reply to thread, add yours or suggest the change of these.
This list of questions will be constantly updating to newest list of suggested questions - so by reading only this post you quite know where we have already come to.
(reading the replies below wont do no harm, either)
1. BACKGROUND OF USER/MAKER:
1.1 how many RMHs have you built prior to this one?
1.2 are you relatively familiar with RMH building (of your style)?
1.3 how long have you been using this RMH?
1.4 how often do you burn your RMH?
1.5 how many hours of burning did you have with this RMH?
1.6 what is the temperature of exit gas flue?
1.7 what is the temperature of exited gas on the end of flue?
1.8 is your RMH attached to a previously installed chimney?
1.9.1 what is the height from RMH flue to the top of your chimney?
OR
1.9.2 how high/low is your exit gas flue end compared to the bottom of burning chamber?
MEASURES OF YOUR RMH SYSTEM
-- MATERIALS AND DIMENSIONS USED FOR FIRST PART OF RMH
2 INSIDE BURNING CHAMBER
2.1 material
2.2 length
2.3 width
2.4 height
2.5 depth
2.6 diameter if circular
2.7 wall thickness
2.8 additional information (optionally)
3 OUTSIDE BURNING CHAMBER
3.1 material
3.2 wall thickness
3.3 additional information (optionally)
4 INSIDE OF HEAT RISER
4.1 lengt
4.2 widtH
4.3 height
4.4 depth
4.5 diameter if circular
4.6 additional information (optionally)
5 INSIDE OF HEAT RISER LOWER PART
5.1 wall thickness
5.2 material
5.3 additiona information (optionally)
6 INSIDE OF HEAT RISER UPPER PART (leave if the same as lower part)
6.1 wall thickness
6.2 material
6.3 height of upper part (from lower part to top of the heat riser)
6.4 additional information (optionally)
7 OUTSIDE OF HEAT RISER
7.1 wall thickness
7.2 material
7.3 outer diameter of heat riser
7.4 additional information (optionally)
8 BARREL (or similar) DIMENSIONS
8.1 diameter
8.2 material
8.3 thickness of material
8.4 width of gap between heat riser and barrel arround the sides
8.5 height of barrel
8.6 height of gap between the top of heat riser to the barrel on top
8.7 additional information (optionally)
....
OPTIONAL INFORMATION
-optionally link to more info/photos to your RMH
-what do you like on your RMH
-what would you copy on your next RMH
-what would you try on your next RMH
-what would you omit on your next RMH
-what you don't like on your RMH
