As I just wrote in an email to Leslie, our Rocket is not finished yet and I want to pull it down and start again - is this normal??
I'm in rural France, discovered Ianto and leslie's book whilst researching paper pulp as an insulating material!! Downloaded the book and I was hooked!
Construction started on Saturday with a group of likeminded people and the results have amazed me.
Mind you, already wishing we'd sunk it into the concrete floor we inherited - it looks so BIG :o!
We've taken loads of pictures and when they're edited I'll post them to our website - just in case you're interested.
In the meantime, I'm looking to all of you for encouragement and support -I think I've worn my husband out!! Lesley

Hello Lesley, and welcome! Yep, it is normal to want to do over.. Resist if you can.. At least for a little while.. As long as there is no trouble with it, try living with it for some time before giving in and tearing into it. You will be glad you waited and when you finally do tear it up, do it carefully so you can observe -- what needs to be observed.. Burn patterns, ash buildup in odd places, possible (though not likely) creosote in unseen crevices... And so on.
I'd love to see yer pics, as long as they aren't too big. I'm on dialup here and have a bit of trouble with large images, etc.

Sweet!!
I've been a fan for a long time. But I haven't even dabbled. I bought the first edition of the book as part of a cob package, and was enthralled about the stove.
Thanks to Ianto, Leslie, for updating the book and thanks to the administrators of this forum. Now that I feel I have a support channel I'm going to do it.
Cheers, Billy

Welcome Billy.. I'm certainly looking forward to your (and others) contribution(s) to this board. I'd be glad to help in any way I can as well..
Best thing to do is to build a test model or two (or more) outside to get a handle on what is happening and work out some bugs there.. Good luck
