Has anyone used pulverised fuel ash blocks in their RMH? In the UK the brand name is H+H Celcon.
I can get some Celcon blocks free of charge - I am thinking of using them as an insulating base for the bench.
Not sure if they would be capable of being used in the burn tunnel or heat riser but may be suitable as insulation around it.

Max, thanks for the link. Just done a look up on Wikipedia - air-entrainment is "the intentional creation of tiny air bubbles in concrete". This sounds similar to aerated concrete?
The difference is the main ingredient. Celcon blocks are 80% PFA whereas aerated concrete uses sand. I would suspect the Celcon blocks have a better resistance to high temperatures.
Weather permitting I'm hoping to trial them this weekend so will post the results!
