Cool product.. I use the regular kaowool fiber a lot .. Then cover with satanite which is an excellent product.. I'd like to try wrapping this around a plywood combustion chamber, burning it out, then lining with satanite..

Hi, I think that you could do the same job using ceramic fibre blanket and a rigidizer such as colloidal silica or sodium silicate. I am making a heat riser at the moment doing just that aswell as coating the inside with added zirconium silicate and kaolin. After firing it for the first time with some charcoal for a hot burn it seems pretty stiff. It won't bend under its own weight.

The moldable ceramic fibre blanket is just supplied soaked in colloidal silica. It's no different to using large amounts of rigidizer.
