first off it is not concrete it is a castable refractory. It should not have any portland cement in it or a very small percentage to speed up the initial setting up. And yes it should work. typically the higher alumina better. kent

Well, you know i'm French, so, sometimes i get lost in translation. I know that it hasn't any portland in it. The cement they put in it is "ciment fondu", melted cement. And in french, we say beton, for both kinds of mixture, either normal concrete, or castable refractory.
Is it hard to use that castable?
