Has not directly to do with stoves, but could be used to improve stove efficiency. TEGs are using the Seebeck-Effect to generate electricity from heat differences and could be used to provide small amounts of off grid electricity for a blower. No moving parts and long live time. www.tegpower.com/products.htmlwww.customthermoelectric.com/powergen.htmlAside of improving efficiency it could improve security by preventing the fire from creeping back up the feed tube and smoking into the room.

I wonder what the return on investment would be to make a bank of these and send the electricity back up to the grid. I want to have a rocket that runs 24-7 except for cleanings and thinking this would be a good way of adding some ballast to the system for when the call for heat is low. Probably a long ways off yet before it would be affordable though huh?

Good question, John. First, I gotta ask: why do you need (or want) a rocket that runs 24/7? The feed will be your most interesting modification (for me). More than likely you're talking about some kind of pellet system. You may need one of these TEGs to power the feed screw.. Though Rectifier's got it goin' on with a passive feed. You can read through his journey at the Riley Pellet Burner thread. I don't really know how cost effective the TEG systems are.. They look most suitable for small, off grid and remote applications.. Like phone charging at the fishing house or something.. ??

Saw some of those tegs on ebay for @$30.00. Says they generate 12-15 v, at 3amps? Also saw the biolite stove with integrated teg. Thought it was cool. See some potential for small fans and device charging. Thought the larger air circulation fans using teg tech was also cool but way over priced.
