wanted to share where I am in my attempt to build a rocket stove mass heater with 13cm flue size , out of recycled materials and step-by step upgrading it ( modular approach : ) so here are my questions and thoughts in telegraph style : The fire(combustion) chamber placed in one room, burn tunnel goes through brick wall. Burn tunnel made out of fireclay cast around aluminum flexible pipe. section = 15cm dia. heat riser - same as burn channel - wonder about adding few porcelain pieces in a spiral pattern on the sides of the base of the heat riser - anyone with such experience ? does it really improve the burning.Do I have to make the heat riser tapered if adding those turbo-fins to allow more space in the lower part for the swirling pattern to take place? trying fire chamber with a sliding lid to allow for better air intake and wood loading. lh3.googleusercontent.com/-klNtlQgS8kM/Twb3VwEREvI/AAAAAAAABjM/VYMXq0fVvYc/w359-h269-k/DSCN9959.JPGThe heat accumulation will go into a small bench made out of heavy fire bricks and sand/clay infill. Unfortunately the chimney has an average 15 cm cross section so the pipes after the rocket stove part are 13 cm. so far I have been using an old stove using it as a heat riser with a small fire chamber in front of the lower openning of the stove. so far it was Ok with the restricted 13 cm pipes. It helps the 5 metters stack to the roof. here some more photos explained : plus.google.com/u/0/photos/107746249051632795847/albums/5694431262221710657I will appreciate any suggestions. BTW by casting fireclay around a flexible pipe you could easily make the whole thing spiraling.

BTW by casting fireclay around a flexible pipe you could easily make the whole thing spiraling. just peeled off the "cast" of aluminum - no cracks so far - let it dry and will assemble the whole thing . BTW : Just finnished reading a lot of the posts here about adding cycloning/turbulence and experiments done by peterbuild. good that I spent 5-6 hours reading most of the posts here ! Thank you all ! Peace and prosperity Martin
