Yes I agree, you make some great points. It is my intention to use alum fire brick and your thoughts of using clay sand mortar is brilliant as for sealing & taking It apart for design change or maintaining it. I thank you for that. I will take pictures and post them as the results.

A well built 6â J tube simply running a single barrel without and mass will indeed pour out huge amounts of heat although there will be quite a bit of heat loss out of the chimney. Twin staked barrels will be able to dissipate a lot more heat or a single barrel on a base will also work very well. I have one in an outbuilding that is used as a heater and cook stove.
