Hi everyone! I wanted to share the following 2 short videos: a trailer and an excerpt about the new Free Heat movie by Paul Wheaton and a bunch of other experts, including Donkey. Hope that's okay and that you enjoy these! All about rocket stuff, of course: Trailer:
Excerpt:
This new movie covers the following: - details about our new juicebox stratification design idea - a quick overview of the rocket mass heater basics - a beautiful build of a lorena rocket stove and cooktop - a humble pebble style rocket mass heater in the solarium - a solar food dehydrator with rocket assist - a short summary of why we won't be using 4 inch j-tubes at Wheaton Labs anymore - a cob style rocket mass heater for a tiny house - a commercial rocket heater, the gamera, in a tiny cabin - an introduction to the cottage rocket design with some burn tests - a commercial rocket heater, the liberator, in our wood shop - a rocket sauna featuring a cottage rocket heater - a quick forge/kiln prototype
Thanks - feel free to share! More info here

And here is an excerpt from the movie building a pebble style rocket mass heater in the solarium:
Do make sure you check out the cartoon image of Donkey/Kirk on this page - it's well worth it.

The newest clip from the movie about free heat talks about why we are no longer using 4 inch j-tubes and are now using 6-inch ones only. Let us know your thoughts.

Thanks for the link. Going to watch tonight.
But....the only free heat I have ever found is when I'm out in the sun. Wood heat is not free.

Can someone explain how the juce box stratification thing is supposed to work ? im not about to spend money on this film to find out. Also, the claim that a RMH uses 10% of the wood of a conventional stove is a wild claim and pretty meaningless without some context.

I agree that these outrageous wood consumption claims are a disservice to the technology.

Great Hope you enjoyed the video clips - there are some free plans on the website too (and lots of free RMH resources at permies.com)
Free heat refers to how many of us can use yard waste, twigs and sticks to power our RMHs, as they use a lot less wood that conventional wood stoves.
Anyway, hope you guys enjoy the excerpts. We can probably all agree it's a wonderful thing to spread the word about rocket mass heaters to a wider audience. Thanks again!

So nothing new then? Presenting existing knowledge as new, giving it a fancy name and then selling a video about it is cynical to say the least, especially since the whole concept can be explained in one sentence.
