Hi everyone, I am going to build a bell in the corner of the room, the corner mud brick walls are 250mm thick, my question is should I build the bell and use those walls as part of it, there is going to be 900 mm of wall above the bell. Would the heat be lost outside? or because of the thickness would a lot of the heat travel up the wall? Or should I build another wall in front. THanks for taking the time.

Hi hammer,
Yes you will heat the outside world. The colder the outside, the faster the bell will get cold. Best is to put an insulating layer between your bell and the wall.
I would build a thick bell wall along the house wall to store more heat. If you want to get some temp profiles you can read this post

Thanks for that Fiedia, I looked at your drawings, they are incredibly well thought out, it now makes sense to store the heat in another thick wall just in front of the existing one and have a thinner one facing into the room to release it.
