Hee Hee ! That is definitely over the top! I see it is a tri-clamp fitting on the bottom of your tee. What are you using in place of the gasket? Thanks for posting the pics of your shiny 4 incher!

Didn't really see a need for the gasket, just clamp it on a little tighter. Do you think leaking will be an issue? Oh the riser is an adjustable grill mount, don't know if i will use it or not. But that is the beauty of this material, things slide on and off at a whim. The top is some very thick stainless I found, should hold up well.

Wow, good first real burn. Out in the snow and the cold...roughly 1.5 hours.

Burgers anyone? They were really good, all you taste is the meat and spice with this grill. Cooked over an old oak pallet board. Sounds bad, tastes great. Hinged lid, temp gauge, and damper (might allow smoking in the grill, mesquite, hickory, etc. I know, bad burn but tasty!) to come to complete the BBQ. Oven, auto feed, and thermal mass attachments in the works. ;D
Also removed the vermiculite and put perlite in yesterday, may try it out this afternoon.

Sorry Donkey, are the pics too big? Just saw your "dial up" note. The "engine" is running great, many wonderful cookouts with very little fuel usage, no smoke after start, and not much charcoal/ash afterwards. Qualitatively, not much difference between perlite and vermiculite noticed, if I wanted to do temp profiling I could just go to work, what fun is that?

Yep, they're a bit too big for me.. Fortunately I can see enough in the thumbnails. That's probably one of (if not THE) nicest looking little rocket cookers I've seen! Good one.
