I've heard some talk on burn through issues, so i bought Stainless steel from a diary plant that was decommissioned. Initial burn this weekend looked great. I still need to insulate, but has anyone burned through stainless wall of 0.090"? Also this is a "T" with sanitary clamps and caps at the bottom. Thanks for any input, will post pics as I get nearer to completion. This is part of a complete system with a vented 3-pot stove top and oven that can be used in multiple configurations.

Being a brewer/brewery builder (as well as a natural builder) it makes me jerk when you say you are burning sanitary fittings! Oh well, I'm over it.. I have used some scrap 4" .065 stainless for a heat riser for just a little bit but ended up going with thick mild steel for the permanent cooking unit because I didn't have enough of the stainless or I would of used ss. So I guess I don't really have any useful info for you, sorry. Please do keep us posted and I look forward to pics!

When I build something I want it to stay built! The frame work is extruded aluminum t-slot material called "item" and it has diamond plate panels to keep the vermiculite in. It's a little over the top, but it will last and looks great. Should get sealed up tonight and isulated. I can't wait to camp with the whole system this year.
