Hi there,
Just wondering whether flexible multi-fuel chimney liner could work for the flue in a RMH?
Not the intensely corrugated flexible liner used for gas stoves, as I understand this would slow down the passage of the flue gases excessively. The multifuel liners are smoother, but my question to you guys is whether you consider it to be smooth enough?

I am still gathering parts for my stove, I looked at an 8" one and I think too much velocity would be lost, if I could find an 9" one I think it could compensate. Cleaning them would be more difficult due tot he ridges.

I think it is a question of how long a run you have as well. The resistance is greater (difficulty cleaning is a concern for sure) but the turbulence is increased and the heat exchange will be more efficient so you might be able to have a shorter run and still exchange as much heat as a longer run. It would take a bit of experimentation to figure out the relationship. I personally prefer a removable turbulator for increasing turbulence so the cleaning is easier when that time comes but if flex was what I had I'd use it.
