You'll have to give some info on your stove since there could be several issues that could be at fault. What is the size of your stove as measured by the size of the heat riser , 6", 8", etc.? How tall is your heat riser? How long is the burn tunnel?
Basically, the heat riser should be at least twice as high as the burn tunnel is long, though even more is better, and everything downstream from the burn tunnel should be at least the same cross sectional area as the burn tunnel, not smaller.
More info on your stove will help fine tune the responses.

Usually, white is NOT smoke.. It's fog, Condensing moisture. You can check by passing your hand through the cloud. The difference is startling.
