Nice idea. Dunno. I haven't tried to archive it yet. Not sure how big a pain that would be.. I'd hate to lose the stuff here if something happened... Server death or some such. I'll look into it.

I wonder if there is a general design guideline in here somewhere. I'm thinking a primer or 101 that pulls the fundamentals together in one spot. or is there enough agreement on how the basic rocket stove works for this? For instance, ratio of air inlet/burn tunnel/chimney exit , or proven materials for different things. I can also understand if this board is for experimenters, and the fundamentals are covered somewhere else - Wikipedia?

The basics are covered in the rocket stove book, by Ianto Evans and Leslie Jackson. It's a good one.. Highly recommended.

It would be a good idea to start collection important information and put that on a wiki hosted somewhere else. This will serve two purposes: * newcomers can find important information more easily * in case if Proboard losing data this information is not lost forever

Good call.. There are appropriate tech. wikis popping up here and there. I know that Leslie Jackson (co-author of the rocket stove book) wants to mirror the boards on her website.. I COMPLETELY agree.. The information here is too important to loose and it would be a damn shame to see it go over some power glitch or something.. Just the scale of the job, distilling these boards into the critical info, is enough to give me the willies.. My wife begrudges the time that I ALREADY spend doing this...

Hey bart!! I've GOT that set and think it's cool.. I ALSO wish to support Paul, Ernie and Erica as they are very cool people doing very good work!! BUT!! For some reason, this one here feels a bit like spamming to me! Kinda hijacked this (admittedly dead) thread with it too.. I'm gonna let it be (for now), but I suggest that you post this in a thread all on it's own. Preferably in the OFF TOPIC area where it belongs! Cheers! D-

Sorry if it feels spammy, 'Alergyfree' was asking if there is any information available on disc and i thought that was a direct answer to is question. Now would you recommend that i start a thread in OFF TOPIC to let people interested know those DVDs are out there ? Thanks for the feedback, and keep up the great work. Here some more information to kickstart anybody on Rocket Mass Heater, a one hour presentation by Ernie and Erica www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mZQdu2wNi4&hd=1

Yeah.. Put it in Off Topic and I'll sticky it.
alergyfree wanted hard-copy of the pages in this board.. I don't mean to crow TOO loudly, but there's SO much more info on these boards than those DVDs.
