Is it possible within the Proboards system to limit the amount of posts new members can make? That's seems to be what other forums do to stop the spambots.

Unfortunately an IP ban wont stop it, it'll be running multiple VPN's. Edit: Looking through the Proboards support site, they seem to recommend setting Registration Approval: support.proboards.com/thread/567934/prove-humanyou could always enable pending registration so staff must approve membership before they can login. to do this go to: Admin >> Settings >> Forum Settings >> Login And Registration (tab), go down to "Registration Settings" and enable "Restrict Registration"
