Wow does that sound like fun! I think I probably have too much to do here before winter at this point but it sure is tempting!

ok, no prob, just thought I'd throw that out there...as far as building one for you, I think it's best I answer that after I get our's up and runnin! You might want to at least start searching for materials, i.e. bricks and also some good clay, and dirt.

good tip -- i have zillions of old bricks piled up here & i was thinking of just prior to beginning to build i could have a load of clay delivered by the local clay works in my village where they produce terracotta floor & roof tiles--do you think they have the "good clay'' --what are the requirements? special kind of dirt ?

Umm.. the Terracotta soil will work fine, though you will need to add quite alot of sand. The best soils for the purposes of cob are likely too sandy to make good tile/etc. Clay rich soil, not clay.

Errmm... I am willing to build your rocket mass heater. But, not this year. Next year I will be retired and within limits, I finally will be able to do what I like. Building an RMH would be fun, involved skills are no problem.
