Nice done, Vortex ! You made a complete frame in which you built the stove or you made it like in the sketchup file ? Were there single skins ? Do you have pictures ? First single skin stove I built I had to make a Heart Frame around to hold it together. I then made 2 with welded bands around them, and my new vortex stove has a full frame all around it holding everything in position.

Great to see your new developments of this cooker! You'll see on the drawing angle iron around the core to compress it. It's very important if you want a heater that lasts long. This "batchblock" core is cubic so that it can be compressed with this system. In russia they use it a lot, see here : kirpichiki.pro/gallery.htmlThis method is coming in France too, and I believe that's a great progress. Everything moves after a while. Also, don't build it with clay mortar, it won't last. Thank you for this comment. Please tell me what you use between your bricks if you don't use sand&clay mortar?

yasintoda From 17 version SketchUp need a 64 bit system with special requirements to the graphics card. Is it possible to duplicate all the files on the site in version 8? As a rule of etiquette. My 64 bit laptop does not have a driver for Windows 8.1 for the graphics card, making it impossible to use the latest versions. I have 15 PRO. Thanks.

looks good yasin, nice documentation. With the double skin I guess the warmup time and the cooktop temps are down.
serg, you dont need graphics card, its a simple model, just turn off shadows, i can run it on an old dual-core cpu.

Orange SketchUp 17 and above are not installed on the laptop because of its bad graphics adapter or its drivers (last update for Windows 8,1 was made in 2013). Other people have other problems installing version 17 and higher. It's not just for me, and suggested this forum as a rule of etiquette to keep in 8 version, as is customary in our forums.

serg247 No problem, I'll do it ! I have myself only sketchup 2016 because I'm on linux so I understand. OrangeThe deflector under the plancha was not a good idea. The plancha was too slow to go high in temperature. When we took off the deflector, the plancha wrapped like mad. So now we'll try a plancha with a hole in it (like on the version I first published here) OR a cast iron plancha. Metal reseller plasma cut it, it's just more expensive. Regards,

Regards, Do you think a small piece of Vitroceramic just for the hottest spot could work? Shouldn't dilate or bend and provides fast high cooking temps.

Hi Yasin, Peter and all!
Félicitations Yasin! Great!
Another interesting field of study will be on the heating behavior of such a little stove/cookstove... What are wall's temperatures, time of heating at (let's say)50% of nominative power, which effective power, etc...
Another week of study?

yasin, so a single skin with the bricks placed on the wide side is not stable enough?
and it is interesting that the chimney CSA can be smaller almost down to port CSA.
system size 165 mm:
port CSA 150cm2 riser CSA 241 cm2 bypas CSA 66 cm2 octogonal CSA to chimney: 146 cm2 chimney CSA 177 cm2
