Umm...
If you are using pearlite or something like that for insulation and you put it in loose, it can find any little pinhole or crack and end up blowing around inside your bench, etc.

If you're absolutely sure it's sealed in, then loose fill is probably a bit more insulative.

I personally always go for the slip.
