Hello all, Many of you have seen my stove. I am just reposting it since picasa became google and google photo albums destroyed my collection of photos. So I remade the album on flickr, Now new members can see how I made mine. There are NEW pictures of my cold air intake at the end. Rocket Mass Heater on wood floor, Zone 5 Climate-Dan (wolf1004)

Nice image compilation! I really need to get into the habit of taking more pictures as I'm building my stoves.
I'm curious about your fresh/cold air intake.
How does the air flow from there into the inlet of the J-tube? Does the air still flow down and over the fuel as normal?

Sorry I just made all 100 photos public. Tell me if it doesn't work. I think people who log onto flickr can view, now hopefully everyone can.

The cold air inlet is for people breathing not stove breathing.
I had a whole house air pressure test done and they said I needed to add makeup before I eliminated any more leaks elsewhere.
So I figured I heat it with those 7 aluminum pipes using some of the exhaust gas, instead of pulling in cold air from unheated holes in windows and doors.
I STILL need more make-up, with all the windows shut and the cooking stove vent fan running it can suck the stove backwards when it is not running (stinky creosote)!

Maybe install a draft inducer that turns on when you turn on the cooking vent?

Maybe install a draft inducer that turns on when you turn on the cooking vent on? Funny you should mention that. This morning I was trying to cook breakfast and light the stove at the same time, and was wondering why the stove was blowing a big jet of smoke out of the primary air inlet. As soon as I turned off the extractor fan over the cooker it stopped - Never thought my house was that air tight.
