After years of stalled projects,my recent hard won victory over the city has reinvigorated my rocket stove madness. My summer was stolen, taken up with fighting multiple departments of making you sad. Lucky for me, I found a friend on the inside. Actually, the rusting hulk of a failed rocket stove was one signpost that alerted my fellow traveler that I was more than a junk crazed horder.
Anyway, here is some of what I've been up to:

Brand new core. I'm not done with the old one, but already I see where improvements need to be made. The old cores OD is the new cores ID. The new core doesn't have abrasives and rock wool in the refractory, just the Rapid Cast and Perlite. No duct elbows in the new core.

It slides over the feed tube. Regular silicon will be used to seal the gap. Even with the water cooling, the can will surely fail, hopefully later, not sooner I plan on replacing it with clay pipe,or a piece of duct, depending on which has fared better. A stainless steel bain marie would be ideal. A stainless steel bain marie:

Firing a water cooled core:
Rocket stove core with water cooled feed tube. The water is too low, the riser not insulated enough, and clogged from me feeding it from above,so no chance for the characteristic "horns" to develop. I did hear tiny, tiny roar... Gotta start some where,I started with an unproven design, cause that's what got my juices flowing...

Gotta start some where,I started with an unproven design, cause that's what got my juices flowing... Yes, and what you learn will pay dividends farther on up the road; take notes
Gotta love progress
