Hi everyone, I'd like to share with you a build I did last fall : It is a 175 mm batch with 8.1 m2 of internal surface area. If the third bench is "activated" the ISA becomes 9.4 m2. The secondary air system is different from Peter's last floor channel. It is somewhat resembling the S-portal but this one is in bricks only for durability. The users are very happy about the two benches, even though the right bench is too long (the heat doesn't go until the end of the bench). Second skin is made with adobe bricks. Plaster is made with local clay and donkey manure. I didn't have time to make a complete test with the testo. More details about the system when I can do a full test. I fired the thing a few days after having completed the inner skin.. this was a mistake. DO NOT FIRE THE HEATER when it is still WET. The joints will be more fragile and prone to breaking. I did it with much less precautions on another build and the weakness of the joints is obvious. Here is the link for detailed pictures of the construction process : webcloud.zaclys.com/index.php/s/7Dp1eO2OSN0HiBfThe sketchup plan V2016 can be found here : webcloud.zaclys.com/index.php/s/pKum42na4NimqePThanks everyone here for the sharing spirit. Many thanks to radek because I learned a great deal from his detailed pictures and to peterberg obviously !

Thanks for posting and congratulations on a great build! What ratios did you use for your plaster mix?

Thanks morticcio and drooster,
the plaster is made in two layers : the first one is approx 10mm thick and made with clay and sand screened at 0-3 mm, the second is 5mm thick and made with clay and sand screened at 0-2mm plus 10-15% in volume of donkey manure. Ratios are very dependent of the purity and type of clay, but I start with 4 parts of clay for 10 parts of sand or whatever.

nice work pouring the perlite from the top and making simple bell bypass interesting second air solution. how long does it need to heat up and how long does the heat last? What is the oven temperature?
