Just noticed that the shorter riser heights,4.1 times the "base" number,is roughly 3 times the diameter of the riser. So a 3" diameter riser can be only 9" tall , a 5" diameter riser 15" tall, and a 9" diameter riser 27" tall. I love rules of thumb, so I thought I would share this.
Hopefully I have my math right!đ

Is there a thread that this discussion references for a "short riser length"? I did a search for "short riser" and did not find anything.

well ...the one I got know about 4,1 B heatriser is the member shilo 's thread From what I got know it is the exact Peter's batchbox firebox construction just with a shorter riser. There is a video at YT where they speak about the built but unfortunately it is in Hebrew lng Is there any member from Israel who would be willing to create a briefing from what he is saying in the video, please?

But it is the thread about a RISERLESS core not the short riser the OP inquired about.

EtownAndrew, this: proboards.com/thread/1845/scandal?page=1 is the thread that refers to short risers. My rule of thumb is extrapolated from their research.

Walker's stove got something like a 4-5B square riser and it works great, that's why I've put it here.
