I have searched here for a thread about heat exchanger that look like this fellow's, but found nothing at present. I am not wanting to make his mod on my RSMH project at all, but mostly wondering if it would work on such? It is intimidating and pretty ugly to be all honest, but he claims it is very efficient and sometimes even too efficient. I believe he called it an H-cap, but I may be incorrect. Anyone see any threads of such a heat exchanger here before? Like say, it is a wood burning barrel stove and not a rocket stove mass heater.

That wouldn't be as "efficient" (wouldn't extract as much heat) as a double-barrel stove.
Stack a second drum on top of the first one, laying on its side, with the chimney pipe extending down to close to the "floor" of the second drum. The "inlet" to the second drum would extend past the middle of the top drum. This makes the second drum a "bell" and would be capable of extracting much more heat than that galvanized pipe conglomeration.

Thanks for the input, pinhead.
This topic can be moved to Other Types of Stove category, as necessary if the moderators wish. I had put it here as it seemed experimental to me by what the guy was doing to modify his barrel stove.
