Been running my truck with transesterified bio-diesel for years. And i've heard of people oiling wood with it but haven't heard the long term results... has anyone tried oiling cob with this stuff? If so what are the behaviours?

I don't think it would work out well. The kinds of oils we use on earth are usually "hardening" oils, like linseed or hempseed. WVO stays gloppy and liquid.

Ya i think you are right. Doesn't form polymer chains.
I tried a test patch and it was still pretty easy to scratch after five coats and weeks to set up…
oh well…
haven't tried hempseed oil nor hemp fibre yet for light clay mixes, but i'd love to
medicine, food, floor oil, paper, tensile fibre, clothing, wall material…
no wonder it is prohibited
