If like me, you've ever wondered how fire bricks are made, here is a documentary from 1951 explaining just that!
After seeing the effort & energy that goes into the process I'll treat my bricks with a bit more respect from now on!

that was informative, you can tell it was the 50's by the way they boast about the amount of water they used. be more about the low water consumption today. i am getting a load of firebricks for my birthday. now that's what i call a birthday present. a potter friend has just brought a new kiln so is chucking out the old one.
