i scored some, supposedly, kiln bricks from a guy. he had them behind his shed for years. can these get soaked with water? should i dry them out any before laying fire to them? also what meanings do the numbers have? some say k 180. they are yellowish 6"x6" maybe 2" thick.
i have some others, i salvaged 30 years ago, that say mex r co viking. they are yellowish color also. they look to be standard brick size.
any info on these would be great. they are going in my the core if suitable.

The 6x6 sound like they could be firebrick, your older ones also. Photos are needed. It's been my experience that firebrick does not absorb water like a clay brick will, but better to let them air dry some before using.
