I've read Erica and Ernies book, watched the video and read Ianto Evans book where several of the developers mention creating a P Channel and a trip wire could somebody please elaborate on these for me?

Trip wires break the laminar stream at the ceiling of the burn tunnel up in small eddies. By doing this, the unburnt gases which stream to the riser are thoroughly mixed with fresh air supplied by the p-channel. This can all be done without the last one, provided there is some space between the fuel and the start of the tunnel at all times.
Is this clear?

Morgan; Did peters excellent description make things clear? Or were you hoping for photos? I hunted for a while to find good photos of a trip wire, I believe that it was in a post from donkey. Photos of a p-channel should be easy to find here or over at permies.

A little sketch is better than a long address
