It is semi-warm here with temps going into the mid 40s and rainy. The video was taken at a mud boat ramp (directly in front) on the Allegheny River. The main body of the river is past this little island and to the right of me (which can't be seen). I wanted to show the speed of the river and get a bit of the sound. Oh, man, am I missing the water bad. This weather is kind of a torture. Someday I will get a wet suit. The video is pretty basic stuff. I guess I am a river rat. I miss the sounds, smell, and feel of the water. Can't be away from it for too long.

I hear ya. I used to live right on the ocean. Hey, but you deal with what you got. Besides, I don't have to worry about jellyfish here.

I couldn't agree more about those jelly fish- we're going to the outer banks in July, and I'm not looking forward to getting stung at all! Say, 3rd pic from the bottom of your above pics shows a beautiful twin Shag Bark Hickory- The FHC member in me is showing!!!!

Yeah, but what about turtles? Any good turtle-watching spots there? I found a hostel near President... www.turtlebaylodge.com/Turtle

I love that stretch of the Allegheny. The video I posted earlier is from just north of President. If anyone gets the chance, boat or drive from the Buckaloons in Warren County down to Franklin, PA. Another place to visit, if you like remote, is the Allegheny Reservoir.

Wow, Daryl. I've only been east of the Mississippi three short times in my life, never had a chance to really DO anything. Looks amazing. I've just finished patching up stress cracks in the canoe and took it out on the little creek (crick) down from our place the other day. No leakage, so I'll be headed out for a 3 day trip at the end of the month. Unfortunately in my state, most moving water is privately owned besides a few exceptions, so you get in trouble for trespassing if you float off your own property. (that's KS, or as some say lately Brownbackistan).
