I was wondering if anyone has used a rocket stove as an incinerator for burning household trash? We use to be allowed to have burning barrels to take care of our burnable items and reduce what we sent to the dump. No we are only allowed to have a chimenia. Well my old home town where my parents still live anyways. The same is true in my sister's town. She wants to burn the pizza boxes that the dump wont take but how to burn that type of trash without all of the hot coils and ash blowing all over the place. Could something be done on a smaller scale then a mass heater to burn some excess now and then? Swizzle

Well... Why not? Just gotta figure out an ash-catch for capturing all the flying debris that's easy to clean out after. If you want to build a single purpose stove, quick and easy, get THAT job done and no other, it's pretty darn simple.

My problem is too many projects started and not enough money to finish them. I'm still working on my solar window heater, a VAWT idea, and a couple different variations of the rocket stove, not to mention insulating my new place here. The rocket stove is definitely a priority for me though. According to the heating guy that fixed our stove the last time we have one of the worst pellet stoves on the market. He said the next thing to go will be the motor and they run $300 to $400 on this model. Got to get crackin on the stove idea soon. Swizzle

How about making some sort of a box thingy out of fly screen large enough for the pizza boxes? This could be place above the burn tunnel to catch the ash while still allowing for the gases to exit. Don't know if the screen would hold up to the heat, but may be worth a try?

It takes a minute to do it but you can burn through that kind of screen with a lighter. I know, because I've done it. Swizzle
