Hi all, first post. I demo'd how to build a rocket stove for our local farmer's market and thought you might want to see the blog entry with pics: www.comradesimba.com/blog/?p=480Next week I'm doing it again and adding a 30 gallon water heater tank over the dual exhaust pipes, covering it with a scrap tin roof shroud and cobbing over the whole thing. Glad I found your forum!

Welcome to the forum.
Nice job on the stove.
I noticed you measured the gap over the barrel.. Something I've discovered is that it's much easier and possibly builds better stoves to adjust the barrel height while the stove is running. The math says one thing, but the stove(s) tend toward their own character. I've noticed that they usually run best with a gap slightly larger than the math asks for. I start the fire and (usually with gloves) drop the barrel down till the fire runs wrong, then lift it up and listen for the "sweet spot". Test it (up and down) a couple times to make sure of that spot, then wedge it up there and cob it in.
I look forward to your water heater solution.. Post it up when you get there. ?

Kinda like adjusting a carburetor, hahaha. It's sorta the same principle now that you mentioned it. Thanks for the tip, and I'll update when the water heater pics come my way.

I think it's great that they asked you back to show it again. It could b ethat you made an impression with them with the stove.
