So, I finally got around to making this video. It's short, and the heater is ugly, but it gets the idea across in a fairly concise way. There's not much new here for most folks familiar with this forum, but it does show a fairly simple design that will do a great job of both introducing folks to RMH building and get the ideas flowing, as well as being an incredibly useful cooker, yard waste burner, patio heater.
As an example of control, I was able to bring a 5 gallon stock pot to a boil, simmer beans and hocks for a bit, then pressure can the whole lot, which required simmering a large volume in the canner for 65 minutes. I did use a pot skirt for that of course, but it works very well and offers excellent control.
This is a great jumping off point for adding a half barrel bench, or another second barrel bell, or any iteration you can imagine. I use mine to experiment with layouts often, hence the barrel with holes all over it. Anyway, here it is, hopefully some of you folks thinking of building a heater indoors will find this an easy introductory project that fits your needs.
