Hi folks new member and first post.I am making my first stove, a 6" rocket stove and have cast the liner out of local clay and perlite, with some fiberglass strands for reinforcement. The perlite I used was horticultural,as that was all I can find. The j tube is surrounded be 4" of clay and perlite mix.I plan on covering it with 2" of cob. My riser I am making with a 6" heating duct with 3" of clay and perlite inside of a 12" heating duct.I will be using a 100 gal propane tank which is 15 " dia. That will leave a 1.5" space around my riser. I really didn't have a complete plan,i just made the liner to start and it is evolving as I go,not the best way,I know. My liner is developing some cracks as it is drying.Seeing as I am covering it with 2" of cob,is the cracking of the liner a concern,or should I repair them before I cob it? I lined the j tube with backerboard to cast the liner and it will burn out in time.I plan on covering inside the j tube with fireplace cement to make it harder. Any comments or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Don't worry about the cracks, it will crack a lot most likely. Just get the cob around it to stabilize it asap and it will be fine.
