Hello all, I've posted some of the progress of this stove in the "Heater" section. It's pretty well done now. Needs to be sealed/oiled or something to keep the clay plaster from dusting. It also needs to dry out and have its first full firing. I've burned some newspaper in it to see if the smoke went the right way, which it did. Then I burned a little wood in it to pressure up the bell and check for leaks. It had leaks on the side next to the wall where I couldn't plaster the outside of the brickwork. This was on the joints where I had cheated in the last bricks on each row with mortar buttered on each side. I'd hoped I had worked enough plaster into the joints with my fingers, but no luck there! I ended up filling the gap between the bell and the wall with clay/perlite, then plastering the whole thing. It looks better and I'm hoping there is enough insulation there to keep the wall from heating too much. Its a light cob style wall so not overly flammable but still is full of dry organic material encased in mud. What I should have done is spent more time putting slip on the inside of the bell. I'll also see how my clay plasters hold up. No experience with these so this is the first go. Our soil is silt so I used commercial pulverized clay and local sand. Seems strong and sticky so far. Hi Roberto,
I just read through your webpage about the different stove options....very interesting and great to see some pictures of the whole thing in progress. Thanks for posting all the info.
Did you ever get to the point where this thing really started working properly and drawing as you would hope?

It looks like you have too much primary air, hence the smokeback. Did you ever try to cover 80% of you hole on either system while it was running?

"I burned a little wood in it to pressure up the bell" Inside the bell is not supposed to be any positive pressure
