Is it a violation of copyright to post the ASTM E1602-03 standard, or store the 9-page PDF on the server for download? That is an often cited reference.

A couple days ago I received a purple and blue snowglobe with the word peace on it. Pretty cool gift.
I am not aware of violating anything but if Donkey wants to delete a post then so be it.
I am off to burn some incense, light some candles, and bake some cupcakes.

I specifically meant that it would be really nice if we could have access to the 9-page PDF published by the ASTM, which discusses masonry heaters (ASTM E1602-03, as I recall), but I suspect that is copy righted material. I was hoping someone would inform me I am mistaken in that assumption. But given the ASTM sells that information, and at a very expensive price ($45USD or so for those 9-pages of info, seem pretty expensive to me, at any rate) I am assuming it is illegal to post that PDF here. But I am not a lawyer. I'm just guessing. And asking. Snow globes? I do not understand the reference. Are you suggesting that the word "peace" may be trade marked or something like that? If that is what you mean, my answer would be no. Trade Mark and similar legal protections cannot be made to a single common word. That was my experience the one time I pursued a trade mark at any rate. Part of the application process points out that you cannot (or could not at that time) try to trade mark a single word, like "strange" or "challenge" for example. I'd expect "peace" to be in the same category.

The snowglobe. It is the stage I am at - I don't care. I don't care about a lot of things. I don't care about mainstream society. In my other life (work), I deal with legal issues and people wanting to put others through the ringer over stupid stuff. It's a mad angry selfish world. What I was trying to say is - I leave it at the door. I don't even think of legal stuff outside of work nor do I want to. I want to live a nice peaceful life in the light. What matters most to me right now are cooking, music, water, and being happy.
Ok, enough of my hippie babble. Let's get back to talking and dreaming about stoves.
