If you do build it, then please post the results here. I am very interested in the possibility of an outdoor variation. C'mon Daryl, do it, you know you want to!  One thing to think of, is to have a Y or a T or something at the bottom of the chimney to heat it up and start the draft in the right direction. Other than this, for testing purposes, just few bricks, a bit of rockwool, few bits and bobs, few pieces of tube. May be a barrel or a half one, you don't need much. For testing and ease of building, i would put the firebox outside the barrel. |

I am going to start with the bell and testing the mass. This is all going to be outside. I have been looking for a way to improve Texas BBQ style cooking since I prefer radiant heat from mass. Looks like I might have found it. Thanks for the awesome idea and great sketch. |
