I don't have enough time in the day for this stuff. Here is a youtube channel that includes some wood gas tractor projects.

There might be videos out there that go more in depth and explain wood gas motor builds but like I said, I don't have enough time and I am only beginning to grasp the concept.

Here's one where youtuber Engineer 775's wood gas truck is hooked up to a generator that runs the whole farm.

Daryl: I built a pellet fired wood gasifyer thay will run a 15 hp generator. A couple of issues about running a vehicle. One it would need to be upsized to be able to handle the horsepower, and two, you would need an older vehicle with a carburator. Not very practical but doable.lots of them in Europe during the second world war. FEMA has plans online for a downdraft model which I followed initially and then found www.buildagasifier.com and the u tube videos and followed Josh Burks videos and it turned out beautifully. John

Daryl: I decided to post pictures of my gasifier build. It was a fun project and I was able to run a generator on wood pellets. imgur.com/a/fhzuP. Hope you enjoy John

John, that's a great looking gasifier.
I've been doing some research on the topic lately. Have you only run the small generator? To what extent did you design this? What type of power level can you generate from the system shown?

Coisinger:
Thanks for the comment. I think the stainless steel construction gives it a certain appeal. I have only run the small 1.2 kw generator with this, although it is designed to be able to handle my 4.5kw gen. I wanted to be sure that the media filter and cyclone filter took out enough particulate and any unburned tars so that the intake valves on the generator don't gum up. So far the small generator is working fine. And I haven't needed to run the large generator on the syngas. Gasoline is still readily available and much easier. This was a "can I actually make a gasifier that will work?" project. The basic design I used was Josh Burks'. My own modifications were mostly about using stainless steel stock and parts that that I could acess. All in all a fun project for a retired guy.
