I am curious about the clay pot.
I know it can break down from moisture if left outside all winter. The clay pot would crack from condensation. Then there are the clay flues...I guess I will be googling materials to learn about the difference and durability. Maybe this is why commercial tandoor ovens are housed in metal? Not sure.

From my research and speaking with pottery guru, the best material to use for a clay pot oven seems to be raku clay mixed with kyanite. All clay pots will crack from thermal shock but this mixture is said to be the most durable.
