Hi there. I'm looking for feedback from rocket stove builders who have experience with building 6" systems using 55 gallon drums for heat risers. What kinds of special considerations do you recommend? Is this advisable?
The rocket stove I am building is in a tiny house - less than 200 square feet, hence my decision to use smaller pipe. Simultaneously, the pipe will run nearly 30 feet through a cob bed and a bench, doubling back on itself (making two 180 degree turns) in the bed before it runs through a bench and out the south wall. I figure I'll want a tall heat riser in this case, since I'll need a fair amount of draw to push through that length of flue pipe. (Tall without being ridiculously tall, though.)
Any thoughts on construction details I need to keep in mind to build a successful stove?
